🌬️ What are our kids huffing these days?

Don’t worry folks: the kids are no longer hit with leaded gasoline (but they’re still probably hitting the vape, or huffing glue, etc.)

But back to the tweet — you mean to tell me that while the whole country had stopped using leaded gasoline by 1996, but NASCAR was like

They just kept using it until 2007?? Maybe Ricky Bobby’s IQ was a product of chugging leaded gasoline lol

Here are two awesome things though:

1. As I’ve written before, we’re getting rid of more air pollutants across the U.S., AND we’re doing a good job of lowering emissions.
   

2. The world saw how bad leaded gasoline was and was like “oh no stop,” so the UN pushed hard in 2002 to get all countries to stop using leaded gasoline and it worked. For example, most countries in Africa were using leaded gasoline in 2002, but by 2006, they had all stopped!!!

Seeing us get together to eliminate a harmful thing over and over again is so refreshing, especially amidst all of the doom-and-gloom headlines.

*locks and loads rhetorical shotgun*

• We’ve saved the ozone layer

• We’ve stopped using mercury

• Ended harmful pesticides like DDT

• Eliminated many terrible diseases like polio

• Ended leaded gasoline

• and the list goes on!!

What’s next on our hit list?

Here are some of my thoughts —

• Regulations of microplastics and forever chemicals (thanks Biden - actually)

• Continuous banning of phones in schools (at the state level)

• Fireworks (they’re pretty awful for your health, and drone shows are way cooler now!)

• Vaping (taxed or regulated to death)

Some of you may ask “what about seed oils?!?!”
Sorry, seed oils are actually good for you.
