🔥 Hot Take Friday
Author Tim Urban once said something along the lines of “if we magically transported George Washington to the present-day, he would be so overwhelmed by all the new things that he would just drop dead from a heart attack.”
Speaking of change, let’s talk about cosmetic modifications 👇

Plastic surgery will become the norm.
I get what you’re probably thinking — “but what about ~authenticity~ ?”
Idk man, that’s a deep question.
Here are some words (edited for brevity and clarity) from entrepreneur @levelsio on Twitter/X that captures what I think will happen with cosmetic modifications:
“Once we pass this imperfect phase, I think it'll be inevitable we enter a future era of full face and body modifications, where everyone is constantly tweaking how they look, just like they do their hairstyle and clothes now. People will tweak themselves just like how they modify their video game characters.”
You won’t be able to tell the difference between who has cosmetic modifications and who doesn’t.
Tbh, this is already true for the people that can afford it and are smart with it.
“The future is already here, it's just not evenly distributed.”
Like many things that we get better at doing over time, plastic surgery will become as cheap and easily accessible as electricity in our homes.
Maybe we’ll go through a phase where dating apps will ask you “have you had any cosmetic procedures done?” But that phase will last for just a few years, at the speed we’re advancing.
If this scares you, just think about all of the things that are relatively commonplace now that would’ve been considered wild even 20-30 years ago, like all of the cosmetic things that men are doing — injecting themselves with testosterone, injecting filler to enhance their genitalia, hair restoration, etc.
Buckle up - the future is coming!

The vast majority of tech bros spending thousands of dollars on supplements, mattresses, and CGMs would be better off spending $100/month on quality time with two friends
