I’m chronically online, finding out how the world works.

⬇️ Let’s get it.

🥫 Why you should eat more processed foods

Ever heard of the Liver King?

If you haven’t heard of him — good, because he SUCKS.

Why? Because he tries selling a “primal” lifestyle to his millions of followers to convince them that they can be happy, healthy and jacked like him, if they just follow his simple “primal tenets,” like turning off your Wi-Fi and eating raw meat.

🤡

Some of his beliefs, like getting sunlight and good sleep, is good advice - sure.

But he’s one of many charlatans who are exploiting your fears and insecurities about all sorts of things, such as how to live a healthy life, to get you to buy their crap (in his case, supplements). And they use a whole bunch of word salad like “neuro-cognition” to sound smart.

It’s terribly annoying and plainly whack af.

This is why it’s a huge breath of fresh air to come across legitimate people like Dr. Michael (Mike) Israetel.

In the video I’ve attached below, he shares with you how and why Liver King is a 🤡 (not even getting deep into how the guy is on insane amounts of steroids).

The overarching point here is that we get a lot wrong about how our ancestors lived. Just because they had to survive a certain way doesn’t mean we should try imitating that lifestyle — it was all they knew!

For example, in many cases, processed foods are GREAT, as the great Dr. Peter Attia explains.

A few reasons why:

  • We can mass-produce these foods

  • We can fortify foods, like milk, oats, salt, and these yummy venison sticks, with nutrients

  • They can cater to special dietary requirements and preferences, including: gluten-free, low-sodium, and plant-based alternatives.

Just because you hear something labeled “processed" doesn’t mean it’s bad — Lays chips clearly have no nutritional value compared to protein powder.

I hope you enjoy the video below (heads-up: Dr. Mike’s sense of humor is a bit strange):

Still curious?

  • Follow Dr. Peter Attia on YouTube and Insta (I much prefer him over Dr. Andrew Huberman)

  • Check Dr. Mike’s explanation of how "good vs. bad” is the wrong way to think about food — it’s all about your goals!

  • For great advice on working out, I enjoy Dr. Mike’s advice and Jason and Lauren Pak on Insta

And here are some 🔥 tweets for you —

Thanks for taking the Pack,
